Queen Street bridge (York) closure: 19–22 and 26–29 April 2024

From 8pm on Friday 19th to 6am on Monday 22nd April, and from 8pm on Friday 26th to 6am on Monday 29th April, Queen Street (between the railway station and Blossom Street) will be closed to all traffic.

This is likely to cause heavy traffic and delays to all routes through York, but in particular there will be diversions and changes affecting:

This service is operated by Arriva, and uses low-floor buses. There is no service on Sunday or bank holidays.

What's changed?

May 2023:
An additional late afternoon journey added on Saturdays, along with additional morning journeys from Stillingfleet to York (duplicate journeys will run at 1017 and 1217 to provide extra capacity), except January and February

April 2022
Frequency reduced from every 1½ hours to every 2 hours
Selby to Drax is now run as a separate service
Saturday evening services reinstated

September 2020
Saturday evening and Sunday services withdrawn.
Late afternoon journey between Selby and Drax withdrawn and replaced with a college bus.
