As a result of reduced demand for travel and staff shortages, some bus companies are running reduced timetables. You can find the latest updates at getdown.org.uk/bus/corona, and I will do my best to keep it up-to-date with news as it comes in, but if you have any specific questions then please contact the relevant bus company.
Please remember that you must wear a mask or face covering when using public transport unless you are exempt, and avoid paying with cash if possible to reduce the risk to yourself and others.
You can now track the progress of your buses live, with YourNextBus
This is being driven by West Yorkshire Metro, so is mainly aimed at buses in Leeds and Bradford. At the moment, real-time information is only available for some services in York and North Yorkshire, mostly First and Transdev divisions. The system will also give you the scheduled departure time of all other bus services, but these will not be updated in the event of delays or disrupton
You can access this service on the internet, using the links below, or on your mobile phone. Text the 8-digit number of your bus stop to 63876 (spells 'Metro'), and you will get a text back with the next departures from your stop. This costs 12p plus your standard network charge
If your reply gives a clock time, eg 402 SELBY 11:25, this is a scheduled time and there is no live information
If your reply gives a time in minutes, eg 66 SKIPTON 12mins, this is a live estimate of how long it will be before the bus arrives.
