WELCOME TO POCKLINGTON BRIDGE CLUB

Play Bridge and Make Friends

Welcome to our site! We invite you to explore and learn more about our Bridge Club, our upcoming events and activities. Meeting weekly, we play duplicate bridge and have a small number of tournaments.  See our Activities, and also the  News and Results page for current events. You can also see the fun we had with our  look back at what we did in 2022 .

Have you played previously and would you like to play but do not have a partner?  We welcome new members with or without a partner and can provide some tuition for beginners by arrangement

OUR STORY

Quite a journey...

The club started in Pocklington School in 1969.  In 1997 the club moved to Low Catton and from there in 1998 to the primary school in Stamford Bridge with the club growing to a membership of almost 60 people with 9 tables regularly in play each week.

When the Primary School became unavailable we were  offered a room at Battleflats Vets in Stamford Bridge where we enjoyed many friendly and relaxing evenings until Covid literally stopped play.

We restarted at the end of 2021 and have moved to our new home at Yapham Village Hall, playing on Thursday afternoons.

Our door is always open to new members, no matter their age or experience level. Our aim is to enjoy the bridge play and not for it to be in any way over competitive or stressful.
