Events and Competitions: 2008/09
Competitions are generally free to enter, and are open to all members. Non-members may play with the permission of the chairman, but will not normally be eligible to win any prizes.

Individual (Fruit Bowl)
One evening during spring/early summer, not to be announced in advance.

A one-night competition in honour of Joan and Harvey Beaumont

A ten-week competition - pairs count their best 5 scores over the competition:

The now legendary Military Movement, and the usual Christmas goodies.
There will be no bridge on 26 December
Mixed Flitch - 13 February
A one-night competition, with partnerships to be drawn at random at the beginning of the evening. Partners can get to know each other over a glass of wine before play begins.
Teams events
We hold up to three teams events during the course of the year. We don't plan these in advance, because we do need to have the right number of complete tables to make them work; they can happen on any non-competition night. There will be prizes for all these events.
