Rules & Etiquette
Arriving at the table
When you arrive at the table at the start of the round, say hello to your opponents – don't just continue your conversation with your partner (especially if it's about a previous hand that your new opponents might not have played yet) and ignore them.
Before you take the cards out of the deck, check on the table card that you have the right pairs playing, sitting the right way round, and that you have the right set of cards. If you play the wrong cards, or if you play at the wrong table, this may mean that you can't play a set later on and you either have to sit out or get a minimum score on those hands.
It is particularly important to check the boards if you are playing a Howell or any form of Mitchell where there are relays or sharing tables.
